BUA Cement Sokoto Launches Transformative Heavy-Duty Equipment Training Program for 60 Host Community Youths
Wammako, Sokoto State – August 5, 2025
BUA Cement Sokoto plant has officially launched an ambitious six-month training and certification program designed to equip 60 young people from host communities with specialized skills in operating heavy-duty earth-moving equipment.
The groundbreaking initiative, unveiled at the company's Sokoto Plant, represents a significant investment in local capacity building and youth empowerment. The comprehensive program will provide participants with recognized certification in the operation of sophisticated construction and mining equipment to accord them the opportunity to get employed.
The program is more than just training it's about transforming lives and creating sustainable career pathways for our young people. We are investing in the future of our communities by providing skills that will open doors to meaningful employment opportunities across Nigeria's growing infrastructure sector.
BUA Cement encouraged the trainees not to take the opportunity for granted as it could afford them possible employment opportunity with the Company.
The training program aligns with BUA Cement's broader corporate social responsibility strategy, focusing on skills development, youth empowerment, and creating lasting economic opportunities within host communities. Upon completion, graduates will possess valuable technical competencies highly sought after in construction, mining, and infrastructure development sectors.
